Our Philosophy

A team of dedicated and enthusiastic education professionals established Guan Du Hua Wen Experimental Education in hopes to implement Hua Wen education philosophy in fostering children to be happy through learning and encourage them to be the best of themselves and ultimately, pushing for the future of education.
Child-centered is the core of Hua Wen Education philosophy. With character education as the cornerstone, combined with abundant outdoor teaching resources, our team carries out exploratory and experiential teaching. We proactively cultivate trilingual skills, foster children's ability to learn independently, and stimulate innovative thinking and interests in learning. Hua Wen helps children to have the courage to dream, dare to take actions, and become the future global elites.

Our Philosophy

At Guan Du Hua Wen, our curriculum is centered on interdisciplinary integration and thinking competencies, creating a learning environment that meaningfully connects academic subjects, everyday life, and future pathways.

Our program encompasses trilingual learning(Mandarin, English, and Programming), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, and Physical Education. Through inquiry-based learning, hands-on practice, and authentic, real-world tasks, students develop systems thinking skills, learning how to analyze problems, synthesize information, and propose effective solutions.

We place strong emphasis on students’character development and inner growth. By integrating the Leader in Me, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and a comprehensive student guidance system, we support learners in building self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and collaborative abilities. This holistic approach nurtures confidence, responsibility, and positive learning attitudes.

To deepen learning and promote real-world application, we offers project-based learning, Big History Project, and Capstone Project. These experiences enable students to transfer knowledge across contexts while strengthening interdisciplinary integration and communication skills. In addition, Financial Literacy is embedded in the curriculum, guiding students to understand money management, responsible consumption, savings planning, and foundational investment concepts—cultivating practical and forward-looking life competencies.

Beyond the classroom, we provide experiential learning opportunities, including Field Studies, House Activities, and explorations of industry and culture. Through direct engagement with the wider world, students broaden their perspectives, accumulate meaningful experiences, and progressively develop the cross-disciplinary competencies and global readiness essential for the future.

Curriculum

  • Leader in Me

The curriculum is centered on The 7 Habits, systematically cultivating students’ self-leadership and essential life skills. It covers seven key areas: being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, putting first things first, thinking win-win, seeking first to understand then to be understood, synergizing, and continuous self-renewal. Through these habits, students develop independence, planning skills, and cooperative behaviors.

The program integrates class mission statements, leadership role assignments, and personal goal setting, allowing students to practice responsibility, respect, and life balance in daily life. Family-school collaboration is a cornerstone of the program, with parents participating in workshops and activities to help cultivate a positive, supportive, and growth-oriented school culture, guiding children to become confident, goal-oriented, and influential global citizens.

  • House Activities

Students are grouped into three “Houses” based on their traits: Truth House, Love House, and Beauty House. These houses provide interdisciplinary and cross-environment platforms for inquiry and hands-on practice, guiding students to make choices, collaborate in teams, reflect on their learning, and present outcomes—putting into practice the spirit of “unity of knowledge and action.”

Through service-oriented project work, students explore their potential while learning to act responsibly in real-world contexts, fostering character, broadening perspectives, and developing influence as modern citizens with essential civic literacy.

  • Field Studies

Field Studies emphasize exploration and practice in real-world contexts, taking students to industrial, cultural, and natural sites to deepen understanding of society, economy, and culture, while expanding interdisciplinary perspectives. Through these experiences, students gradually develop career awareness and aspirations, laying the foundation for their high school journey.

The program also cultivates thinking habits and problem awareness, guiding students to observe phenomena, conduct interviews, pose questions, and analyze findings, fostering competency-based learning. From preparation and subject integration to pre-lessons, expert sharing, hands-on inquiry, and reflection, students learn to set goals, recognize personal interests and values, and practice social engagement through service and project presentation. Field Studies extend the classroom into the real world, helping students build a comprehensive learning journey that connects academics, careers, and social practice—truly embodying the philosophy that “learning is everywhere.”

  • Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship

Our curriculum is developed based on the PISA Financial Literacy Framework and integrated with STEAM interdisciplinary design principles. Starting from students' real-life experiences, we have constructed a systematic and practice-oriented financial learning journey. By combining gamified missions, inquiry-based learning, and digital tool applications—along with off-campus activities such as bank visits and real-world consumption drills—we guide students to understand core financial concepts including saving, spending, risk, and investment.

Through hands-on activities such as APP-based bookkeeping, savings planning, and collaborative group tasks, students develop the ability to analyze cash flow, make rational decisions, and solve problems as a team. This empowers them to apply financial concepts to their daily lives, gradually building a responsible attitude toward money and the foundational literacy needed to navigate future financial challenges.
